Spring Renewal As the final weeks of winter
linger and we patiently await the first sprigs of spring to emerge, taking
the time to calm the mind and relax the body can be just the distraction
needed. Spring is about renewal,
growth and transformations. You can embrace the oncoming season with your
own spring emergence within yourself. And it all begins with the … can you
guess what I am about to say… it all begins with the BREATH! Pranayama or breath work can
improve respiratory function by cleansing the lungs, strengthening the
respiratory muscles, and increasing oxygen to the blood. Other systems
within the body also reap the benefits of pranayama including the digestive
system and the nervous system (see the September 09 and October 09
newsletter for more). Once we begin to explore,
learn and expand the breath the breath begins to take control of our mind-
calming our senses and clearing our thinking. Asanas, or physical
postures, combined with Pranayama can bring about a transformation that
rivals even the most miraculous work of Mother Nature. The body begins to respond to our new
found breath and eventually relinquishes complete control to the breath and
the movement. This is the connection we
hear so much about in Yoga. The mind body breath connection that fills
every aspect of our being with new awareness and transformation-
transformation that flows from within to without. Exposing the true inner
self with outward reflections. Begin your spring season
with a yoga class devoted to this yogic connection- Monday and Wednesday at
6:45 pm and Thursday at 12:00 pm we will begin our spring renewal with Flow
yoga. Or attend our special event Yoga Nidra to deepen this connection into
the inner most layers of your subconscious (click link to the right). Allow
me to join you on this remarkable journey of exploration, discovery and
renewal through Yoga. Check out my Pranayama video
series coming soon to a Youtube near you. I will keep you informed about
the release date. I have heard so many
wonderful comments from our devoted Yogis and I would love to share these
comments with prospective students. So drop me an email (click the link to
the right for comments) and I will post these comments to the website,
newsletter and other promotional materials. I want to hear what all of you
have to say. So if you haven’t expressed your thoughts now is the chance.
What do you have to say about the studio, teachers, classes, etc? Click the
link to the right for comments and tell me what you think. As I stated
above I will be posting these to the website, newsletter and other
