November 2009
Integrating Yoga Into Daily Life It’s November, time to
pause, reflect and give thanks; it’s time for yoga. We all know the many
benefits yoga provides for the health and wellness of our bodies or for the
calming and focusing of our minds, now lets dwell for a moment on the one
thing that yoga offers its practitioners that no other exercise program
can, the opportunity to express gratitude. We end each class with our
hands in front of our hearts and our heads lowered as we utter the word
“Namaste” as a gesture of deep gratitude; gratitude to the earth, to God,
to instructors, to friends, to family or to yourself, to whomever or
whatever you choose. With yoga you no longer need
the annual reminder the cool weather of November brings to give thanks.
Each and every class becomes an opportunity to develop the awareness and
sensitivity to discover and express your gratitude. The more you practice and
the more of yourself you devote to the practice the more you gain, learn
and grow. Every aspect of your life
begins to be affected from handling relationships to handling traffic jams.
Your life becomes manageable, calmer and filled with gratitude and
graciousness. This is the spiritual side
of yoga, the part of yoga that moves off the mat into every day life.
Encouraging you to be “better”. To be more motivated and devoted to being a
better spouse, a better friend, a better yogi, a better person to know and
love. So this Thanksgiving take
the time to discover and express your gratitude, take the time to discover
and express your true inner self. Upcoming Events/News Check out our ad in Sopie Comments to Schedule Changes Holiday Closing We will be
