Volume 1, Issue 1
Integrating Yoga Into Daily Life Aaah! We all know the
amazing bliss that follows a great Yoga class. The body and mind is calm,
relaxed and totally at peace- all is right with the world. Until… you have
to go out into the real world. The real world can be less than blissful,
even frustrating and stressful. When
the real world interferes with your bliss, it’s time to take a
breather. Yes, it really is as
simple as pausing and taking in a slow, deep breath. With that said,
simplicity doesn’t always come easily. Yoga, like life, is a
process. It can come slow and easy or fast and furious. The pace is not
always up to you. Learning to accept the way the world, real or surreal,
unveils itself is the first step to integrating Yoga into every aspect of
your life. The more you practice the
more that is revealed. Taking one more breath while in a challenging pose
is no different then taking a breath while in a challenging situation. So the next time you are
faced with a distressing deadline at work or confronted with a personal
dilemma step back out of the real world into the surreal world of Yoga.
Simply pause and breathe. Allow the breath to calm and soothe your initial
reactions and learned responses. Be patient with the process
and diligent with the practice. Allow the bliss to unveil itself in it’s
own time and at the most unusual places.
